When i built my home, i endeavored to make it as “sustainable” & “self-sustaining” as was reasonably possible, given the need to conform to building codes & mortgage requirements.  Understand that it’ll probably always be a work in progress.  Furthermore, what was regarded as sustainable yesterday may --rather curiously-- not be regarded the same tomorrow... ideas on that are certainly always evolving.  Regardless, the longer we wait to take action, the harder it will be to adapt.  And did you know?... we’re all going to be farmers again some day.
